An Easter Quiz!

You Are a Chocolate Bunny

A traditionalist, you secretly want to dress up like a bunny. And not just on Easter.
What Easter Candy Are You?

That sounds about right - I would have been appalled if I'd come up as a marshmallow Peep! (They're just yucky.) Just for the record though, I MUCH prefer Lindt chocolate bunnies over the one shown above.

Also, I'm not so sure about the dressing up bit.

Happy Birthday Dear Jetta!

Happy 100,000th mile!

Yes, I've been driving the same car for quite a while. I bought it used in December 1999 with 20,008 miles on it. My Jetta has now "lived" in 4 different states, and been driven here, there, and everywhere.

Oh yeah, it's also paid for.

I SAID "Step Away From The Uniform!"

Dear Air Force Uniform Board,

It's me again. I thought I covered this issue in excruciating detail about this time last year.

Yet despite my sage advice, you apparently persisted in your quest to revamp our current service dress, which I'll freely admit, makes us look a little (ok, a lot) like airline pilots.

But this is the best you could come up with? Really???

Question of the Day!

How do you pronounce voir dire?

Is it:

a. vwahr deer
b. vor deer
c. vor dire
d. voy dire

I'm an vwahr deer girl myself. That's how my three years of high school French would lead me to pronounce it, and how all my law profs said it. Imagine my surprise this past week when I heard several of my colleagues use pronunciations "b" and "c." One tried blaming it on being a Baylor grad, implying it was a Southern thing. Which doesn't quite work, since another one of the "vor dire-ers" is a Harvard grad.

Note that Black's lists the first three as acceptable pronunciations with no indicatation as to whether "a" requires a pretentious accent. I personally choose to omit it.
