Does Anyone Else...

have friends who feel it necessary to broadcast their annual income to anyone who will listen?

Does anyone else find that 1) singularly annoying and 2) rude?

I mean, why would you go out of your way to tell a law student who is po' ass broke that you're making close to $100K and not working nearly as hard?

That's just cruel.

I wasn't going to tell you this, but I make negative $40K a year. Try not to be jealous.
I have you beat. I make a solid (and impressive) negative $20-25K a year.
you should know better than to believe Rando. He makes 30-40 tops.
my friend send out a mass email telling us her christmas bonus. awesome. we appreciated that.
Do people just not understand how tacky that is?
I have to continuously remind people HOW LITTLE I earn to explain why I don't want to do something.

But yeah if you're bragging about that fat paycheck, just give it to students and recent grads to relieve your conscious.
See, I've discussed what I make with my friends, but only like, certain friends -- also, most of my friends are older than me, so they tend to make more than me anyway.

I used to have a boss that would "accidentally" leave his paycheck out on his desk when you had a meeting with him. Now that's tacky.
